I recently had the pleasure of joining Rich Nassif on his podcast, How I Built This Sports Club. Typically he meets with accomplished club leaders to hear what they’ve learned along the path of building a thriving youth sports club. However, in our case, Rich was interested in understanding how our service – using parent feedback to increase participation and player experience – is being utilized by a growing number of innovative youth soccer clubs.

In this discussion, I recount my journey in youth soccer and the founding of Satori, an organization dedicated to improving the experiences of players and families in youth soccer clubs. We talk about the importance of third-party surveys in gathering feedback, the role of coaches in player retention, and the insights gained from analyzing data across multiple clubs. The discussion also touches on best practices for surveying, the significance of player enjoyment and improvement, and the future direction of Satori as our nonprofit strives to continue helping youth sports evolve.
