Clubs Who Work With Satori Are Improving Player Experience

For organizations that provide analytics services like Satori, it’s difficult to measure the effect of our actions. One question I’ve been asked several times is, “Do you have any data to prove your services help clubs improve?”. My answer to this used to be, “No, we haven’t run that analysis yet. And even if we did, without running a proper scientific experiment (which would be cumbersome for us and clubs) we won’t be able to quantify the true effect of our services.”

While the need for a true scientific experiment remains, we’ve now completed some groundbreaking research with our growing dataset that provides compelling evidence to support the theory that using Satori surveys helps clubs improve player experiences. The findings below are the result of comparing all parent survey responses from the 12 youth soccer clubs that used the Satori Postseason Parent Survey in both Spring 2023 and Fall 2023. This amounted to about 14k responses in Spring 2023 and 15k responses in Fall 2023. We always assumed that the work we do would prove to be beneficial because we know it to be true in the broader business world. However, it was still enjoyable to see that the positive effect is also seen with our youth soccer clients.

This first set of bar charts below shows how both Enjoyment and Improvement, as measured by two questions in our survey, have improved in nearly every category. The only exception being no change in scores for Enjoyment on Recreational teams.

This second set of charts show how Coach Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Club NPS changed from Spring 2023 to Fall 2023. Five of the six major categories showed improvement, with one very interesting exception. It’s probably true that less emphasis has been given to recreational teams, as compared to travel teams. In the future, we look to collaborate with clubs to find actions they can take that improve recreational experiences as much travel experiences have improved.

While club staff and coaches are the ones who deserve the credit for making these improvements happen, it’s fun to know that Satori is playing our small part in helping them create great experiences for their players and families.
